Managing Web Accounts - Administration↑ Back to Top
1) Why do I need to create a web login?
Your web account is your key to accessing the interactive parts of SpellABCD. You will need an account to:
- Manage Student Access: Create and manage individual student logins, allowing your children or students to play the SpellABCD web games.
- Join the Community: Participate in our forum to share ideas and connect with other parents and teachers.
- Play Games: Your students / children will have a minimal login (class code and PIN) to play SpellABCD games.
If you don't need access to the web games or the forum, then no account is required.
2) What is the Class Code? What does it do?
Think of the Class Code as the address for your private classroom. When a student enters this code, it unlocks the door to a special login page that shows *only* the student usernames you have created.
From there, your child or student simply picks their name from the list and enters their personal PIN to start playing. It's a simple, two-step process designed specifically for kids who don't have their own email addresses. You get to create the code, so you can make it something easy for everyone to remember, like msgray or Johnsons1823.
3) A Message to Our Teachers and Parents.
We want to be transparent about our web login and account system. Our original vision was for SpellABCD to be as simple as possible, ideally without any logins at all. Unfortunately, the realities of the modern internet require us to prioritize the safety and privacy of your students and children above all else. So the web games require logins and pins.
Implementing this security is a step we took thoughtfully to protect your family's data from misuse. We sincerely apologize for this added complexity and hope you see it as our commitment to providing a secure learning environment. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make SpellABCD both fun and safe.
