Then, prove your knowledge by identifying its correct subgroup from the periodic table. With 10 new challenges per session, it's an engaging way to master chemistry fundamentals.
The Two-Part Challenge
Part 1: Spell the Element
An element's name appears as a series of underlines. Guess letters to solve the name, but be careful—you only get 5 misses per element!
Part 2: Identify the Subgroup
Once you solve the element, you must correctly select its matching chemical group (like 'Halogens' or 'Noble Gases') to earn your points.

How to Play: A Quick Guide
Launch the Game
Click the Login / Signup link in the top navigation. Then click the Students - Play Web Games box.
Choose a Player
Enter your class code (given to you by your teacher or parent). Pick your name from the drop down list and enter your PIN. Then click the Login button.
Play Periodic Table Elements
Begin your chemistry challenge. Be ready to guess one of the 118 elements.
Guess the Element Name (Hangman Style!)
A set of blanks will appear, showing the number of letters in an element's name.
- Type letters one by one to guess the name.
- If you guess a correct letter, it will appear in the blanks.
- Be careful! You only have 5 misses before you have to move on.
Identify the Subgroup
Once you correctly guess the element, you'll then be asked to select its chemical subgroup from a dropdown menu.
The game is over once you have completed all 10 rounds. Good luck!
